The
Finest Equipment
We
believe it's our responsibility to
ensure that every detail is accounted
for on your trip to Alaska and that
philosophy also applies to the equipment
we use.
Our
vessel, the "Polar Bear", is a 2008 28'
North River equipped with state of the
art electronics and safety equipment.
The "Polar Bear" has a heated and
enclosed cabin for the ride to and from
the fishing grounds and a large deck
that provides plenty of room for
fighting multiple fish. For our
customers pleasure, and ours, our boats
are also equipped with Sirius satellite
radio, providing over 100 channels of
listening pleasure.
In addition, we also contract the "Knot
Topless" and the "Makai" on a steady
basis throughout the summer. Both
vessels are equipped much like the
"Polar Bear" and are operated by two
very capable captains, Kim McCarthy and
Troy Thane. Both Kim and Troy are
seasoned captains, patient with
beginners to the sport, and take great
pride in putting our customers on fish.

Fighting
the ocean fresh fish that you'll hook on
our charters is half the reason why you
came to Alaska, so why not use the
highest quality tackle money can buy.
With this in mind, we've chosen the
"Salmon Moocher" series made by Lamiglas,
which are sensitive enough to pick up
even the most subtle of bites, yet
powerful enough to handle a trophy class
king salmon.
Matched to these rods are
Shimano Tekota line counter reels that
offer perhaps the smoothest drag of any
reel on the market.
For halibut fishing we use Lamiglas rods
and Penn reels loaded with 100 lb
Berkley braided line. For your comfort,
we also provide fighting belts that make
cranking up halibut and bottomfish a
whole lot easier.
